The new Beijing international airport, which is still under construction and set for completion in 2007 ahead of the Beijing Olympics in 2008, is a breathtaking example of modern aesthetics with an uber techno, space age edge. Think Star Wars meets Space invaders.

The designers, Fosters & Partners have also paid homage to the building’s location, incorporating age old Chinese symbolism. Its soaring aerodynamic roof and dragon-like form will celebrate the thrill and poetry of flight and evoke traditional Chinese colors and symbols.

The airport will be the world’s largest and most advanced. With a floor space of more than a million square meters the mega terminal is designed to accommodate an estimated 43 million passengers a year.
